Pepita Madalyn Redhair, a Native American Woman,  from the Navajo Reservation out of Crownpoint, New Mexico went missing in March of 2020. She was 27 years old and was last seen at 1000 Clemente Court SW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her case has been opened, handled, closed, and passed on to multiple New Mexico law enforcement agencies. This includes the Albuquerque Police Department and the New Mexico Second Judicial District Attorney twice, the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, the New Mexico Department of Justice, and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.  The case is currently active with the New Mexico Second Judicial District Attorney. Homeland has been working with her family to bring Pepita Redhair home since January 2024. There is a reward and this case remains a top priority for Homeland.

                                                                   Nicodemus (Nico) Gonzales RIP

On July 31, 2021, Nicodemus (Nico) Gonzales was gunned down on Chaparro Street in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Nico was 23 years old, the proud father of a two-year-old son, and beloved by his family. He went to a party in the 1800 block of Chaparro Street in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and never came home. He was taken too soon. Mawu Ekon Revels, then 17 years old, and Isaiah James Taylor, then 19, were armed with a 45. Caliber semiautomatic pistol and a 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistol. Both weapons had attached lasers. They both fired into a crowd at the party. The party-goers ran from the gunfire. Nico was struck twice and died trying to flee. Mawu Ekon Revels was tried as an adult for murder D-307-YR202100002 in the Third Judicial District Court and convicted on November 18, 2022. Isaiah James Taylor ‘s trial is pending in the Third Judicial District Court   D-307-CR-202100633. Homeland is proud to have supported the Gonzales family in this case.

Cassy Marie Brooks Farrington was a mother of two who was 23 years old when she was found dead the bathtub of her Grant County, New Mexico, home in March of 2014. She was a young and vibrant nurse who was proud of her profession and had just been promoted. Her life was full of promise and potential. She was killed by Bradley Farrington, her husband. They were in the midst of a bitter divorce. Homeland entered the case in 2017 (No. D-0608-CR-201500202) as a consultant to the Sixth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

We are proud to have provided litigation support and expert witness testimony in the successful prosecution of Bradley Farrington. The New Mexico Supreme Court upheld his conviction in 2020.The Court clarified the “forfeiture-by-wrongdoing” exception in a judicial rule that permits hearsay statements when prosecutors show a defendant engaged in a wrongful act to prevent a witness from testifying. The State of New Mexico does not have the death penalty. Bradley Farrington was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder, the maximum sentence allowed.

Homeland was responsible for on-site security and protection for the 2020 Jade Simmons United States Presidential Campaign during its New Mexico tour and rallies in June 2020. This included all aspects of dignitary protection for the candidate, Jade Simmons, and her staff. It also entailed securing venues and events in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Picture of Steve (002)_edited_edited.jpg

Steven W Smelser was 46 years old when he lost his life in his Doña Ana County New Mexico home under suspicious circumstances in April 2016. He was a hard-working man. He was a loved cowboy, father, son, and brother. The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s ruled his death a suicide. Homeland became involved in 2017 in support of the Smelser family. Our investigation revealed the death was a homicide. We were unable, after years, to convince the New Mexico Office Of the Medical Investigator or local or federal law enforcement to change the official determination to homicide or get justice for Steve and his family. We did successfully litigate two New Mexico Inspection of Public Record Act lawsuits in this case.  We are proud to have stood with the family and continue to do so.

Note from Steve's family:

We hope to see Justice served for our family and Steve. After three years of fighting the local law enforcement and the State Police and OSI we were not able to get Justice for Steve's death. However, we hope that the case will be solved and Justice will be served at some point in the future.  With current evidence in hand, the truth will be revealed. If you have any information on this case you would like to share, please contact  Quintin.

Quintin Mcshan participated in a two-month joint project between the Clark County Indiana Sheriff’s Office and the Arts and Entertainment Network, working undercover as an inmate in the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He worked undercover for two months and was incarcerated in the Clark County jail. This was a continuous operation, working 24 hours a day, living undercover as an inmate with the prisoners. The prisoners and correctional staff were unaware of the operation filmed by the A and E television network. At the conclusion, Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel was briefed and consulted on perceived deficiencies in jail operations and given recommendations for improvement.

TESTIMONIALS

Brenda M.

I run estate sales. When I need investigative support, Homeland is the only agency I use. They recently were able to discreetly remove a tenant who had defrauded the deceased property owner and recovered thousands of dollars and safely returned it to my client who was the rightful owner.

MJ

I lost contact with my uncle for 20 years. My mother was getting older, and we feared that she would never see him again. Homeland was able to locate him out of state and put us in contact before she passed. We are forever grateful.

Danny J.

I instruct law enforcement on forensic investigation. Quintin and Homeland have supported every class we have put on in the last few years. They provide the material and review the lesson plans. It has been a successful collaboration.
